The group promotes all forms of training, and especially the advantages of Apprenticeships. Roof Slating and Tiling Apprentices in Yorkshire attend Leeds College of Building and students there have recently won a range of awards. See the latest issue of Roof Overview for further information on our local Award Winning Apprentices.
One of the important issues for roofing companies at the moment is obtaining CSCS Heritage Cards for roofers who work on pre-1919 sites. Managed Industry Accredition is only available until September 2010, so companies need to act quickly if they want to qualify workers through this route.
Supporting the group are a whole range of Associate Members who offer services to member companies at special rates, or assist with our training courses in other ways such as providing resources.
