Kevin Barker of Dodds Roofing Ltd, takes Joint First Place in the Roof Slating and Tiling Category

This years Skillbuild Competition was held at Leeds College of Building and the College was represented by Kevin Barker, who was photographed above on the first day of the competition.
Training Officer, Denise Cherry commented
"Kevin's work is excellent, I watched as he pointed his work, and was really impressed by the care he took with his work.
The detail on the rig was precise, the tile cuts were smooth and well defined, I thought, on day 2, that Kevin would be well placed in the competition"
"It's a real credit to the College and to the YIRTG member company, Dodds Roofing Ltd, that Kevin has been encouraged to develop his skills to this level"
"The 2011 apprenticeship intake at the College is likely to be one of the highest for several years, so lets hope the tradition of producing winners continues".
| Third-year apprentice Kevin (who also represented the College at Skillbuild in 2011) is following in the footsteps of his older brother Josh, who won the silver medal at SkillBuild in 2008.
